Job Description

Position: Electrical Head, Head Office - Engineering Delivery Center (EDC), Chennai

Education: B.E- Electrical 20+ Years of Experience

Preferred from our water industries.

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS

Proven leadership in managing large engineering teams min 25 -50 members handling large scale projects
Expertise in water and wastewater treatment technologies, plant design, and regulatory compliance.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills.
Experience in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial planning for projects.
Proficiency in engineering design software.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Adaptability and ability to work in high-pressure environments.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Lead the Electrical Function of Chennai Engineering Centre reporting to EDC Head Chennai.
Proposal Stage: Review BOQ, optimise cost and defend cost with top management
Basic Engineering Stage: Review overall plant layout with respect to electrical requirements.
Detailed Engineering Stage: Spearhead the engineering team deliverables with respect to Substation design, HT / LT side design of various voltage configurations, plan layout of electrical downstream units including panel configuration, plan electrical building layout, cable routing. Review Technical clearance for Equipment purchases, co-ordinate and collaborate with sub vendors for documentation, client approval.
Travel to client location / consultant location to support documentation approval (Asia, Africa, Europe)
Technical negotiations with Vendor
Co-ordinate with Subcontractors for design, package equipment, erection, HVAC etc
Co-ordinate with Statutory authorities for appropriate approval of electrical systems
Value addition in Engineering review meeting and Engineering studies like HAZOP, SIL, ETAP etc.
Support commissioning team. Field visit as required during powering up of the system and appropriate filed tests
Vendor inspections and reviews as required
Should be a certified engineer.
Knowledge about Indian and International standards.
