Electrical Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Perform electrical engineering activities related to LV switchgear, including understanding client specifications and preparing engineering drawings such as General Arrangement (GA), Bill of Materials (BOM), Schematics, and Single Line Diagrams (SLD).
  
• Ensure strong technical handling of switchgear components (MCCB, ACB, Contactors, Relays) and address client technical queries effectively.
  
• Configure electrical components in SAP and release materials for manufacturing as per project requirements.
  
• Participate in technical discussions and meetings with customers for drawing approval and finalization.
  
• Drive cost reduction initiatives, design standardization, and continuous improvement in engineering processes.
  
• Take full ownership of assigned tasks, work independently, and ensure timely completion aligned with project timelines.
  
• Coordinate with internal teams to deliver technically accurate drawings and documents with high quality and compliance.
  
• Provide support during customer site visits for drawing approvals or technical clarifications.
  
• Maintain documentation, follow engineering standards, and ensure accuracy in all design deliverables.
  

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree (BE/B.Tech) in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  
• Strong understanding of electrical switchgear, including hands-on experience with LV switchgear (MCCB, ACB, Contactors, Relays, etc.).
  
• Proven experience in preparing engineering drawings such as GA, BOM, Schematics, and SLDs based on client specifications.
  
• Working knowledge of SAP for configuring electrical components and releasing materials for manufacturing.
  
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office, along with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  
• Ability to manage customer interactions confidently, including attending technical meetings and resolving queries.
  
• Goal-oriented, disciplined, and capable of taking ownership of tasks with minimal supervision.
  
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written), team-oriented approach, and willingness to travel to customer sites when required.
  
• Demonstrated initiative in cost reduction, design standardization, and process improvement activities.
