ELD Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Safety & Compliance Manager to oversee and manage all safety, regulatory, and compliance functions for our trucking operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and state regulations, reducing risk, improving driver safety performance, and maintaining a strong safety culture across the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and state regulations
• Manage driver qualification files (DQFs), drug & alcohol testing programs, and medical certifications
• Monitor and manage HOS compliance and ELD systems
• Conduct driver onboarding, safety orientation, and ongoing training
• Investigate and document accidents, incidents, and violations, and implement corrective actions
• Maintain and improve CSA scores and safety ratings
• Prepare for and manage DOT audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
• Develop, implement, and enforce company safety policies and procedures
• Monitor vehicle maintenance compliance in coordination with maintenance staff
• Conduct regular safety meetings and audits
• Track and report safety KPIs to management
• Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and insurance providers

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in trucking safety and compliance
• Strong knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations
• Experience managing ELD systems, DQ files, and drug & alcohol programs
• Familiarity with CSA, SMS, and safety scoring systems
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management systems (TMS)
