EHS Officer - Responsible for the development and implementation of required environmental, occupational health and safety (EHS) programs and procedures to maintain the safety and health of the employees on site. Also complying with good environmental practices applicable for local regulations at the project site. Drive the safety initiatives in the project and ensure compliance to company & statutory safety requirements for the site and build a sustainable culture of safety

What were looking for

1. To support Project Managers to lead the site safety management system on day-to-day activities.
2. Monitoring the work permits & safety checklist at site to ensure a safe working environment.
3. Ensuring the safe construction activities in coordination with PMC/Client to ensure accident-free site.
4. Understanding of standards relating to EHS including ISO 14001 & 45001.
5. Developing and deploying methods and technologies for Risk Assessment and Control.
6. Investigations and running EHS Audits of various contractors working on site and confirm adherence to EHS practices.
7. Awareness on high-risk job activities like hot work, height work, confine space work with JSA (Job Safety Analysis) is a must.
8. Preparing weekly reports on site EHS status and presenting the same to project owners
9. Strict adherence to PPE and its applicability on various sites
10. Conducting various EHS promotional activities on site and conducting toolbox meetings in order to create awareness on the safety measures.
11. Conducting and participating in internal safety meeting reviews with various project stakeholders
12. Implementation of Emergency Preparedness Plan on the project site.
13. Liaison with govt authorities and ensure work done complies with BOCWA act, 1996 and other applicable laws & standards.
14. Ensure all work activities carried out at site comply with applicable statutory and legal requirements.
15. Ensure third party inspection/certification for tools and equipments as applicable in Indian labour standards.

EHS Officer must have

1. Minimum 3-8 years of experience in the building construction industry with relevant experience of managing safety for construction/ interior projects.
2. Diploma or degree in engineering / industrial / construction safety or a related discipline.
3. Knowledge of legal and other requirements related to construction industry.
4. Training & HSE activities.
5. Should have working knowledge of Environment Aspects and Associated Impact (EAIM)
6. Identify impact using Hazzard identification and risk assessment HIRA
7. Knowledge on NBC, BOCWA, BOCWR, NFPA & Indian labour act.
8. Interactive Management
