Job Description – Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Officer – Solar Industry

Position: EHS Officer / Executive
Location: Ahmedabad
Industry: Solar (Ground-mounted / Rooftop / Utility-scale)

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and guidelines at solar project sites (rooftop and ground-mounted).
• Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, environmental regulations, and ISO standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.).
• Provide safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs to workers and contractors.
• Monitor and maintain records of PPE usage, permits, and safety checklists.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, and subcontractor teams to ensure safe execution of solar installations.
• Prepare and maintain EHS documentation, MIS reports, and compliance records.
• Promote a safety-first culture within the organization and at project sites.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of EHS practices, audits, and risk management in the solar/renewable energy sector.
• Familiar with electrical safety, working at heights, lifting operations, and fire safety.
• Good communication and training skills.
• Proactive in identifying hazards and implementing solutions.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s / Diploma in Engineering (Electrical) or Environmental Science / Industrial Safety.
• Diploma/Certification in Industrial Safety / NEBOSH / IOSH preferred.
• 2–3 years of experience in EHS roles within solar, power, or construction industries.

Employment Type: Full-time

Compensation: As per industry standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
