Job Description

The Economics Teacher at our CISCE School plays a pivotal role in shaping students’ understanding of economic principles and preparing them for higher education and real-world challenges. This position is integral to our academic mission, fostering a learning environment where critical thinking, data analysis, and an appreciation for global economic trends are highly valued. As a key member of our senior faculty, you will guide students through foundational and advanced economic concepts while preparing them for board examinations.

In This Role, You Will

  • Develop and implement engaging and comprehensive lesson plans that align with the CISCE Economics curriculum for secondary and senior secondary school levels (ICSE &ISC).
  • Deliver subject content in a way that sparks curiosity and promotes a love for economic theory and its real-world application.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods, case studies, and technological tools to enhance classroom instruction.
  • Design assessments, quizzes, and projects to evaluate and monitor student progress effectively.
  • Prepare students for internal and board examinations with clear guidance and structured review sessions.
  • Encourage student participation in economic forums, debates, and other enrichment programs.
  • Collaborate with the social sciences faculty on interdisciplinary projects and curriculum planning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress regularly to parents and guardians.
  • Actively participate in school events, professional development programs, and faculty meetings.
  • Uphold classroom discipline and cultivate a respectful, inclusive learning environment.

To Be Successful in This Role, Candidates Should Possess:

  • A Master's degree in Economics or a related discipline.
  • B.Ed is mandatory.
  • Teaching certification recognized by the CISCE board.
  • Strong subject knowledge of Economics, particularly aligned with ISC standards.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience teaching Economics at the senior secondary level, preferably in a CISCE school.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to explain complex economic theories with clarity and relevance.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools in the classroom.
  • A passion for mentoring and guiding students' academic and personal growth.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching methodologies.
