Job Description

As an Early Childhood Educator at the Joyce Avenue Children's Centre, your role will involve providing a high-quality and innovative educational program tailored to the individual needs of children aged from birth to six years. You will be responsible for ensuring that care and education programs align with the Early Childhood Services Philosophy. Key Responsibilities: - Communicate effectively with families regarding their child's development and well-being - Collaborate with other educators to create an inclusive learning environment that promotes learning and development for all children - Ensure a child-safe environment and contribute to a culture of child safety by following Council's Child Safe Policy and procedures Qualifications Required: - Early Childhood Qualification as recognized under Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011 (Certificate III or equivalent) - Knowledge of National Quality Framework, Education and Care Services National Law Act (2010), Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011), and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework - Current Level 2 First Aid, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certificate with CPR updates completed within the last 12 months - Awareness of cultural needs of families - Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and maintain written records including reports on program goals and child development - Understanding of mandatory reporting requirements The successful candidate will work each Monday and Tuesday on a rotating roster with start times from 6:45am and finishing times up to 6:15pm. Mandatory pre-employment checks include a pre-employment medical, driver's license, Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC), and Working with Children's Check. In return, you will receive a salary range of $28,307.23 to $29,768.13 per annum plus super for a permanent part-time position working 16 hours per week.
