Job Description

Role Overview: At bp Technical Solutions India (TSI) center in Pune, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of safe, reliable, and efficient operations by embedding a strong integrated operating culture. As a Drilling Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and delivering wells worldwide, ensuring compliance with functional processes and policies, and driving continuous improvement in well design and execution. Key Responsibilities: - Accountable for rigorous well engineering and its integration into drilling operations plans to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable well delivery - Demonstrate good safety leadership and ensure compliance with BP Operating Management System, BP Practices, and regulatory requirements - Timely delivery of well engineering and design activities in conformance with BPs Engineering Practices and Operating Management System - Drive standardization and utilization of best practices in engineering for continuous improvement in well design, execution, and cost efficiencies - Prepare drilling programs, rig work instructions, and well cost estimates; monitor daily costs during drilling - Manage contractor relationships and drive continuous improvement through Contractor Improvement Plans - Identify cost efficiency improvements and implement them where possible - Coach, mentor, and develop less experienced engineers Qualifications Required: - University degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent technical degree - Minimum of 6 years of domestic and/or international experience as a drilling engineer - Experience in planning and executing offshore wells - Well Control Accreditation at a Supervisory level (e.g., IADC, IWCF, or equivalent) - Proficiency in tubular design theory, wellbore positioning, drilling fluids, cement design, and drilling engineering software Additional Company Details: At bp, diversity is valued, and an inclusive environment is fostered to ensure everyone is respected and treated fairly.
