Role & responsibilities * Operate and maintain lathe machines effectively to perform various machining operations on components used in the products. * Accurately position, align, and securely fix workpieces onto the lathe machine using appropriate fixtures and techniques to ensure stability and precision during machining. * Perform manual surfacing operations on job materials to achieve smooth, uniform finishes and meet specified surface quality requirements and tolerances. * Utilize drill machines to create precise holes in workpieces according to design specifications, blueprints, and quality standards. * Accurately measure machined components using Vernier Calipers and other precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure adherence to required specifications and tolerances. * Skillfully set up and execute thread cutting operations on the outer diameter of components, ensuring correct thread type, pitch, and dimensions for proper functionality. * Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand machining requirements and tolerances. * Monitor machine operation, adjust settings as needed, and troubleshoot minor issues to maintain efficient production. * Conduct regular maintenance checks on the lathe machine and associated equipment, reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly. * Adhere strictly to workplace safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. * Maintain a clean and organized work area. * Inspect finished components for quality and accuracy, identifying and reporting any defects. * Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and achieve production targets.
