DM/Manager Production- Engine Assembly & Testing

Responsibilities -

• Ensure timely assembly of engine components based on technical specifications.
• Demonstrate proficiency in using hand and power tools to ensure engines meet quality and performance standards.
• Prepare in-house test setups as per internal customer requirements for engine testing on test rigs.
• Ensure all rigs and fixtures are in good working condition to avoid downtime.
• Allocate work to junior staff, monitor progress, and report work status to seniors.

Key Expertise

Technical Knowledge:

Strong understanding of engine systems, components, and their mechanics.

Ability to fit and join various engine parts such as pistons, cylinders, crankshafts, and camshafts; perform settings and FIP tweaking.

Prepare tests by assembling engine components, setting up test rigs and fixtures, and ensuring proper instrumentation (dynamometers, manometers, sensors) is connected.

Safety & Compliance

Strictly adhere to safety procedures, workplace standards, and environmental regulations.

Test Execution

Conduct and analyze engine tests to evaluate performance, durability, and compliance with specifications.

Operate engines under various conditions (speed, load) in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs).

Continuously monitor tests to ensure correct procedures and accurate data collection.

Data Monitoring & Analysis:

Demonstrate expertise in engine systems, data analysis, and instrumentation to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability.

Collect and record key engine data (speed, temperature, pressure, fuel consumption), and use statistical methods to analyze performance and identify potential faults.

Analytical Skills:

Experience in setting up test rigs, operating engines, and collecting and analyzing test data.

Familiarity with test equipment, measurement systems, and relevant software.

Troubleshooting & Reporting

Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze, identify patterns, and think critically to resolve issues.

Diagnose mechanical problems, determine root causes, and provide data-driven reports to designers, engineers, and management.

Experience

Relevant experience in engine assembly and testing for reliability, performance, and durability.

Experience with specific types of engines (e.g., diesel or gasoline) is preferred.
