Desired Qualifications, Experience & Competencies:

Education: Diploma, B.E., or B.Tech in Production or Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

• 8 - 12 years (for B.E./B.Tech holders)
• Preferably in the ferrous machining industry
• Focused on new part development and production/process improvements

Knowledge & Skills:

• Strong understanding of engineering drawings
• Ability to independently design processes and estimate costs for new RFQs
• Familiarity with dimensions and GD&T
• Proficient in 2D/3D software: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo
• Experience in new part development within the automotive industry

Primary Responsibilities:

RFQ Handling:

• Study drawings and design processes
• Perform ballooning and feasibility studies
• Understand manufacturing processes and materials
• Identify quality standards and cost-effectiveness
• Develop cost-effective part costing considering yield, bunch weight, etc.
• Conduct cost analysis, value engineering, and feasibility studies

PPAP Execution:

• Similar to RFQ responsibilities
• Streamline new product development to reduce time and cost

Process Management:

• Review costing details and coordinate with senior leadership
• Ensure timely project scheduling and execution
• Oversee design and prototyping: 2D/3D drawings, FMEA, structural design
• Resolve issues during APQP, FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, layout planning
• Drive product quality improvements through re-engineering and automation

Key Result Areas (KRAs)

Process Efficiency:

• % adherence to established NPD process
• Timely closure of APQP

Tool Planning:

• Adherence to tool planning timelines

MIS & Documentation:

• Timely submission of NPD and DMCI project plans, reports, and projections

Customer Satisfaction:

• Number of ECNs closed as scheduled
• Planned vs. actual customer ratings
• Number of successful PPAP closures
