Job description

Responsibilities

The MSP Director (Azure) leads the design, delivery, and optimization of managed services cantered on Microsoft Azure.

This role is responsible for aligning cloud service offerings with client needs, ensuring operational excellence, driving innovation, and scaling Azure-related capabilities across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Client Advisory & Relationship Management

Act as a senior advisor to enterprise clients on Azure architecture, cost optimization, and modernization.
Ensure Azure solutions align with client business goals.
Lead key client engagements, proposals, and escalations related to Azure.

Cloud Operations & Delivery

Oversee cloud operations teams (reportees include delivery manager, SDM, Azure engineers, architects, support).
Ensure high availability, performance, and security of Azure environments.
Implement DevOps, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and automation practices.

Team & Talent Development

Recruit, train, and retain high-performing Azure specialists.
Promote certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500, etc.).
Build a strong engineering culture around innovation and continuous learning.

Financial & Business Performance

Own P&L for Azure managed services.
Optimize cloud costs for both clients and internal operations.
Develop and manage pricing models for Azure offerings (e.g., flat-rate, consumption-based).

KPIs / Success Metrics

MSP team revenue growth & profitability
Client retention & satisfaction (CSAT, NPS)
SLA adherence & uptime

Technical Expertise

Deep knowledge of cloud architecture & troubleshooting : networking, compute, storage, governance.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Defender, Purview, etc.

Certifications (strongly preferred)

ITIL v4 / PMP (for operational management)
Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500)

Business & Leadership

15+ years in IT services, including 3–5 years in an MSP leadership role.
Strong business acumen and vendor management experience.
Experience with Microsoft Partner Canter, CSP licensing, and Azure Lighthouse.
