We now need a leader who can align execution across varied school implementations, elevate academic leadership standards, and serve as the public voice of a movement rooted in evidence-based learning science.This is not a position focused on academic theory. It's a leadership charge. You'll take ownership of academic strategy in action, establish clear benchmarks, pinpoint gaps in delivery, and guide high-performing teams toward measurable outcomes. You'll convert our scientific principles into operational rigor and advocate for this model on a global stage.
What You Will Be Doing
- Developing academic frameworks that convert learning science into actionable direction for curriculum design, motivational systems, and application architecture.
- Conducting academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to ensure school teams remain aligned, accountable, and achieve targeted results.
- Integrating data, interviews, and direct observation into comprehensive academic ecosystem assessments that identify the most critical obstacles to accelerated learning and recommend concrete interventions.
- Ensuring strategic alignment via planning cycles, feedback mechanisms, and milestone oversight to sustain focus on student learning objectives.
- Serving as the public representative of 2 Hour Learning at senior forums, including keynote presentations and engagements with Ministries of Education, to influence systemic shifts in global education thinking.

Director Of Learning Science Key Responsibilities
Expand and strengthen 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by aligning execution across all schools, raising leadership standards, and establishing yourself as the public advocate of a movement founded on rigorous science and measurable results.
Basic Requirements
- Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field
- 7+ years leading academic or EdTech teams with evidence of exceptional learning outcomes
- Proven experience applying AI or technology to accelerate learning
- Track record of public thought leadership such as media, keynotes, books, or advising
- Strong performance management skills with the ability to hold elite peers to a high bar
- Fluent in interpreting data to diagnose learning issues and direct interventions
- Comfortable engaging directly with students, parents, and school leaders
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Founded or led an innovative school model, lab school, or high-performing EdTech venture
- Experience navigating cultural, political, or international education contexts
- Deep familiarity with Bloom's 2 Sigma research and other mastery learning frameworks

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
