Position Overview: Director of Communications

Ladli Foundation is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven Director of Communications


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute integrated communication strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Strengthen Ladli’s global brand identity across all regions of operation.
  • Oversee public relations, campaigns, and thought leadership initiatives.


Media & External Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with national and international media.
  • Lead press conferences, media briefings, and crisis communication efforts.
  • Craft compelling narratives on women’s rights, public health, and social justice issues.


Content & Digital Communications

  • Oversee content creation for social media, reports, newsletters, and impact stories.
  • Guide storytelling for fundraising, advocacy, and international collaborations.
  • Supervise multimedia content, blogs, op-eds, and documentary-style communication.


Internal Communication

  • Standardize communication flows across global units (USA, Africa, Europe, etc.).
  • Train team members on communication protocols and brand messaging.


Preferred Candidate Profile

We strongly prefer candidates who have:

  • Journalism background

    or have served as a

    Senior Journalist

    , Editor, or Bureau Chief.
  • Proven expertise in reporting or storytelling on

    social issues

    , human rights, public health, gender equality, or marginalized communities.
  • Outstanding writing, editorial, and public speaking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to craft narratives that influence public opinion and policymakers.
  • Strong network within media, civil society, and social impact sectors.
  • Experience working with NGOs, UN bodies, government agencies, or advocacy organizations (preferred but not mandatory).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Policy, or related fields.
  • 8–15 years of professional experience in media, communications, or advocacy.
  • Leadership experience managing communication teams or newsrooms.
