Job Description

The Director of Bangalore Accounting Competency Centre must possess a solid accounting background, outstanding leadership abilities, and a proven history of operational excellence. This role ensures financial records are accurate and compliant with legal standards. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining financial policies, providing financial analysis, and preparing budgeting and forecasting reports for leadership and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team. Provide strategic direction and leadership to the accounting team across 15 territories, ensuring compliance with international accounting standards and regulations. Develop and implement accounting strategies that align with overall business objectives. Lead, mentor, and develop a large team of over 500 accounting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Build capacity within the competency center by acquiring talent, coaching, and managing resources effectively. Oversee the flagship in-house accounting competency center with 550+ employees. Drive process efficiency and standardization to optimize accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting. Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to align accounting strategies and ensure seamless integration with other competency centers. Focus on change management, customer satisfaction (CSAT), and transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. Drive and deliver a new governance model across territories to ensure a unified "one touch and feel" experience globally. Position India as the hub for standardization, simplification, and harmonization of accounting processes. Ensure accountability in working closely with Genpact to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and enhance overall delivery in line with contractual obligations. Manage revenue/utilization effectively while fostering team growth and career development. Anticipate growth in workload and responsibilities as more work transitions to the territories, ensuring the role evolves to meet increasing demands. Take end-to-end ownership of delivery for the competency center, ensuring high standards of performance and compliance. Qualifications: - Masters degree in accounting, Finance, or related field and a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA, CWA, CPA, CMA, CIMA). - Proven experience in managing a large accounting team, ideally in a multinational or global organization. - In-depth knowledge of international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS) and regulations across multiple countries. - Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to drive change and foster a collaborative team environment. - Strategic mindset with the ability to align accounting practices with business objectives and drive process improvements.
