Responsibilities

Software development for process optimization control system, involved in one or more of these main sectors, particularly for the Long Rolling Mill/ Melt-shop/Continuous Costing/ Caster Business :

• Software development for visual applications, including web applications
• Software development for real-time data acquisition, closed-loop control and setup optimization
• Process modelling
• Data analysis

All these tasks are subject to continuous improvement. The candidate, therefore, may also have the opportunity to collaborate in innovation projects: in particular, the last two tasks include the need to be able/interested in reading scientific literature in the field and collaborating with universities.

Technical Requirements

• Experience with source version control and project management systems like Microsoft DevOps;
• The knowledge of manufacturing processes and of the metal industry.

Previous expertise in one or more of the following programming fields is appreciated:

• Software developer of visual applications:
• Microsoft Visual Studio C#
• Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation
• Angular / TypeScript / ASP.NET
• Android mobile applications

• Software process modelling and control:
• Microsoft Visual Studio C++
• Python and/or MATLAB

• Design and maintenance of databases:
• Relational DB (Oracle, Microsoft SQLServer, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, …
• NoSql DB (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, …)

Soft Skills

• Teamwork and collaboration with a variety of stakeholders (internal & external)
• Availability to travel
• Interest to work with a multicultural team
