Die Maker / Tool & Die Maker

Job Purpose:

To design, manufacture, maintain, and repair dies, tools, and fixtures to ensure smooth and efficient production with high precision and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Die Manufacturing & Maintenance
• Manufacture new dies (press tools, jigs, fixtures, moulds) as per design.
• Carry out die repair, reconditioning, and preventive maintenance.
• Operate CNC, milling, lathe, surface grinding, and EDM machines.
• Design & Drawings
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD designs.
• Work with tolerances, fits, and GD&T standards.
• Collaborate with design and production teams for feasibility and improvements.
• Quality Assurance
• Inspect die dimensions, accuracy, and finish using precision measuring instruments.
• Conduct trial runs and identify defects for corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Safety & Compliance
• Follow all workplace safety protocols while handling machines and dies.
• Maintain compliance with 5S, Kaizen, and ISO standards.
• Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain die history cards, maintenance logs, and tool life records.
• Prepare breakdown and corrective maintenance reports.
• Support inventory control for spare parts and consumables.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of tool and die making techniques.
• Hands-on expertise with machine tools (lathe, milling, grinding, EDM, CNC).
• Proficiency in engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Precision, attention to detail, and teamwork.

Qualification & Experience:

• ITI / Diploma in Tool & Die Making (or equivalent technical qualification).
• 3–5 years of experience in die making, repair, and maintenance.
• Exposure to automotive/engineering/manufacturing industries preferred.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Timely completion of new die development.
• Reduction in die-related breakdowns.
• First-time-right success rate in die trials.
• Compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Cost savings through die repair, modification, and reuse.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
