Job Summary

We are seeking a Domain Engineer / Amazon SES Specialist

This hybrid role is ideal for someone who understands email domains and SES deeply, while also supporting a modern SaaS product’s DevOps lifecycle.

Core Responsibilities

1. Email Domain & Amazon SES Responsibilities

• Configure and manage multiple email domains in Amazon SES.
• Set up and maintain DKIM, SPF, DMARC records.
• Integrate SES with CleverTap and other marketing automation tools.
• Monitor & troubleshoot email deliverability issues.
• Work with marketing + engineering teams to ensure healthy email performance.

2. DevOps Responsibilities (NEW)

As Breakthrough continues to scale to 100+ creator apps and millions of users, DevOps is essential. The engineer will support:

AWS Infrastructure Management

• Manage AWS services including EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, SES, CloudFront, API Gateway, Elastic Beanstalk, and IAM.
• Maintain security best practices across AWS accounts (IAM roles, least privilege, key rotation).
• Monitor infrastructure health, uptime, scaling, and cost optimization using CloudWatch and other tools.
• Manage backups, snapshots, and disaster recovery workflows.

Backend Release & Deployment Operations

• Assist backend engineers with deployment pipelines for Node.js/Golang services.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent) for staging and production releases.
• Ensure smooth versioned releases of backend services and Breakthrough Portal updates.
• Maintain environment configurations across Dev, Stage, and Production.
• Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate fixes with engineering teams.

System Monitoring & Reliability

• Set up and improve monitoring dashboards for uptime, errors, API latency, and core metrics.
• Implement automated alerts for critical failures, scaling events, or downtime.
• Support SRE practices as the platform grows.

Required Skills and Experience

Email + Domain Expertise

• Proven experience with Amazon SES setup and domain authentication.
• Understanding of DNS, DKIM, SPF, DMARC.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in email deliverability.

DevOps / AWS Expertise

• Hands-on experience managing AWS environments.
• Understanding of CI/CD systems, deployment pipelines, and release workflows.
• Comfortable with Linux environments and server management.
• Familiarity with Docker, containers, or serverless workflows (Lambda).

General Skills

• Strong communication across engineering and marketing teams.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive problem solver.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud hosting environments (AWS, DigitalOcean, etc.).
• Basic scripting in Bash or Python.
• Kubernetes or ECS experience (bonus).
• Knowledge of DNS management tools (Route 53, Cloudflare).
