As the Head of Fundraising at Breakthrough, you will play a crucial role in leading the organization's resource mobilization strategy to ensure financial sustainability and support programmatic and strategic growth. You will be a key member of Breakthrough's Senior Leadership Team, shaping institutional strategy, fostering high-impact partnerships, and representing the organization externally with credibility and inspiration. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Fundraising Strategy & Execution** - Drive and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to achieve annual and multi-year financial goals. - Lead donor segmentation and portfolio management across various sources such as bilateral, multilateral, philanthropic foundations, HNIs, CSR, and individual giving, while overseeing dedicated teams. - Oversee the creation of compelling grant proposals, concept notes, donor reports, and presentations, ensuring quality and timely submission. - Identify and cultivate new funding opportunities to diversify revenue streams geographically and across sectors. - Collaborate closely with communication and program teams to develop aligned narratives and cases for support. - **Donor Engagement & Relationship Management** - Build and nurture long-term relationships with existing donors and key prospects. - Represent the organization in donor forums, conferences, and high-level meetings. - Develop a strong pipeline of partners and funders through research, aligned with organizational values and impact vision. - Organize donor visits, events, and engagement opportunities to showcase impact. - **Leadership & Team Management** - Lead and inspire a high-performing fundraising and partnerships team, providing clarity and empathy. - Establish performance metrics, monitor progress, and foster a culture of excellence and accountability. - Mentor team members in proposal development, donor research, and relationship management. - **Cross-Organizational Collaboration** - Collaborate with program, MEL, finance, and communications teams to ensure alignment in grant proposals and reporting. - Ensure compliance with donor requirements and internal systems, including due diligence, audits, and financial tracking. - Strengthen systems and processes to support efficient fundraising operations. - **Strategic Leadership** - Contribute to organizational strategy and direction as part of the senior leadership team (SLT). - Bring insights from the donor and funding ecosystem into long-term planning, organizational positioning, and risk mitigation. - Participate in Board meetings and SLT deliberations as required. - Assist in building and safeguarding the organization's reputation, thought leadership, and partnerships ecosystem. **Qualifications Required:** - 13-15 years of relevant experience in fundraising/resource mobilization, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role. - Proven track record of securing multi-crore grants from diverse donors, including institutional donors, foundations, CSR, and HNIs. - Strong understanding of the social impact space, preferably with experience in gender rights, social norms, or feminist movements. - Excellent skills in proposal writing, presentation, and storytelling. - Experience in team leadership, strategy development, and senior stakeholder management. - Deep knowledge of compliance, donor reporting, and financial oversight in the nonprofit sector. - Advantageous to have a strong network across philanthropic and development sectors in India and globally.
