DevOps and Infra Lead

Summary

The InfraOps Engineer is accountable for the operational stability, scalability, and performance of PayTabs’ cloud-native platforms and application infrastructure across diverse business domains. The role involves hands-on management of incident response, root cause analysis, and environment reliability using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. Responsibilities include maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automating environment provisioning, and enforcing change control policies. A strong focus is placed on proactive monitoring, performance tuning, and cost optimization with any cloud platform. The engineer also collaborates closely with development and security teams to ensure compliance, resilience, and continuous delivery across production and non-production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead PCI DSS certification process in coordination with external auditor.
• Expected to establish automation and systems management tools that make it easier to scale rapidly growing business.
• Re-creation, analysis, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of incidents relating to platforms and/or application environments.
• Conduct infrastructure security assessment.
• Execution of application and/or platform changes, releases, and service requests in supported environments.
• Liaise with appropriate teams for the development of preventive and corrective actions.
• Responding to automated alerts on the health and security of the systems.
• Executing scheduled or unscheduled tasks relating to operational maintenance and monitoring of application environments.
• Performing audits and analysis of application environments for the purpose of ensuring proper configuration management and consistency.
• Identifying dependencies and pre-requisites for the solution and validation of non-functional attributes of the application environment design.
• Integrating new infrastructure services based on designs, and participating in automation, consolidation, and centralization projects.
• Ensure all work is carried out and documented in accordance with the required standards, methods, and procedures.

Key Competencies/Skillsets

• Network Administration - Firewall management, network set up from scratch, Linux (Ubuntu preferable), nginx (mandate), SSL (mandate)
• Security- PCI experience (preferable-optional), Linux Hardening Specialization
• Any monitoring and alerting tool including defining the Log based alert rules (Grafana, Loki stack is preferable)
• Knowledge of penetration testing & Vulnerability assessment.
• Have good experience in bash scripting.
• Implementation experience with security solutions such as: WAF, IPS, SIEM, LDP.
• Good knowledge of PCI DSS standard.
• Strong knowledge of internet standards and protocols including TCP/IP.
• Knowledge in Docker, Docker Swarm & Kubernetes
• CI/CD tools (Preferably Bitbucket based CI/CD)

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, and information systems.

• Requires 4-6 years
