Design Manager - Switchgears

Job Description

Objective Lead the design and development of LV Switchgear products (MCB, RCCB, RCBO, Isolators, DBs, etc.). ​ Ensure innovative, high-quality product designs that align with market demands and compliance standards. Responsibilities Develop and manage design concepts for switchgear products, ensuring quality, functionality, and aesthetics. ​ Collaborate with the R&D team to prototype and test switchgear products for performance and reliability. ​ Conduct design reviews to evaluate feasibility, costs, and risks during the product development process. ​ Ensure compliance with BIS, RoHS, CE, and other relevant certifications. ​ Partner with Industrial Design agencies and external teams for design optimization. ​ Collaborate with Sales & Marketing teams to incorporate customer feedback into new designs. ​ Engage in innovative solutions using advanced materials and manufacturing techniques. ​ Work closely with production teams to ensure manufacturability and ease of assembly. ​ Manage and prioritize multiple design projects to meet deadlines and budgets. ​ Assist HR in identifying and addressing training needs to enhance design team capabilities. Experience & Qualification 12+ years of experience in designing and developing switchgear products (e.g., MCB, RCCB, Isolators, DBs). ​ Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field. ​ Strong knowledge of design tools like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software. ​ Experience with lifecycle management and new product introduction (NPI).
