Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Position Overview

Lead the design and engineering activities for solar photovoltaic (PV) projects.
Ensure optimal system performance, compliance with standards, and cost efficiency.
Oversee design team and coordinate with project, procurement, and construction teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end design process for ground-mounted, rooftop, and hybrid solar PV systems.
Create system layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and electrical schematics.
Ensure compliance with IEC, NEC, IS standards and client requirements.
Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments using AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope, etc.
Perform energy yield simulations, shading analysis, and performance ratio calculations.
Specify equipment requirements for modules, inverters, mounting structures, and BOS components.
Manage design engineers and provide technical guidance.
Coordinate with procurement for technical evaluation of suppliers/vendors.
Support construction teams in resolving on-site design issues.
Review and approve engineering drawings.
Ensure designs meet safety, grid code, and utility interconnection requirements.
Maintain documentation for regulatory approvals and quality audits.
Research and integrate new technologies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Standardize design templates and processes for scalability.
