Design-Generalist-Civil

Key Responsibilities:

1. Civil Engineering Design:

• Prepare, review, and modify designs for civil infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, utilities, drainage systems, and urban development.
• Work across various design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, etc.) to create detailed drawings, schematics, and plans.
• Perform civil engineering calculations and simulations to ensure project feasibility, safety, and compliance with regulations.

Project Management Support:

• Assist in the management of project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with other engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure integrated project designs.
• Communicate with clients to understand project goals and expectations, ensuring designs align with client needs and local regulations.

Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration:

• Collaborate with structural, transportation, and environmental engineering teams to develop holistic solutions for complex projects.
• Contribute to the design and analysis of stormwater management systems, roadways, foundations, and other civil components.
• Ensure that all designs meet relevant standards, codes, and environmental regulations.

Site Visits and Surveys:

• Conduct site assessments to gather information for project planning and design.
• Assess site conditions and provide recommendations for design modifications or enhancements.
• Assist with the preparation of technical reports based on site evaluations.

Technical Documentation:

• Produce clear, accurate technical documentation, including reports, drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Review and update design documentation to reflect changes and revisions.

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and best practices.
• Participate in training sessions, workshops, and certifications to improve skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field). A Master's degree is a plus.

• Experience:

  3-5 years of experience in civil engineering design, with exposure to multiple disciplines (structural, transportation, environmental, etc.).

• Licensing:

  Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, or the ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.

• Skills:

• Proficient in civil engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, etc.).
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and standards.
• Ability to perform engineering analysis and calculations.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Additional Requirements:

• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and regulations (e.g., AASHTO, local building codes, environmental standards).
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
