Design Engineer (Sheet Metal fabricator)

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Design Engineer to join our design and engineering team. The candidate will assist in the development and improvement of product designs, drafting technical drawings, supporting prototype development, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

▪ Assist in the creation of 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for sheet metal products

▪ Collaborate with senior engineers to understand project requirements and translate them into technical designs.

▪ Support in preparing and updating Bill of Materials (BOM), design documents, nesting, production drawings and technical specifications.

▪ Participate in prototype development, testing, and documentation.

▪ Review and revise existing drawings and designs based on feedback and technical requirements. ▪ Ensure designs meet functional, safety, and cost-effectiveness standards.

▪ Maintain organized records of design revisions, version control, and documentation.

▪ Coordinate with other departments such as production, quality, and procurement for seamless project execution.

▪ Adhere to company design standards, regulatory guidelines, and project timelines.

Requirements

▪ Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Automobile Engineering, or related field with 2-6 years of relevant experience in a design / engineering role.

▪ Proficiency in design software: Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software

▪ Sheet Metal Fabrication: Basic knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and techniques.

▪ Basic understanding of engineering drawings, materials, and manufacturing processes.

▪ Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

▪ Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

▪ Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Experience 2-6 years of experience in CAD design, sheet metal fabrication, or related field.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
