Job Description

Role Overview: Arcadis, a global leader in sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions, is seeking a Design Engineer specializing in Mechanical for their Water Projects in the UK. As part of the Water Design and Engineering team, you will be involved in diverse and technically demanding projects aimed at enhancing the UK's water infrastructure and environment. Reporting to the Technical Discipline Lead or Technical Director, you will be responsible for specifying and designing mechanical process plants for various water and wastewater projects. Key Responsibilities: - Manage selected projects for the Water Mechanical team, overseeing analysis, design, drawings, and reports production. - Allocate technical resources, ensure quality assurance, and handle client feedback effectively. - Engage with Arcadis Regional offices/teams to address safe design requirements and mitigate risks. - Develop technical methodologies, review work, and promote a culture of checking and accountability within the team. - Coordinate with other design disciplines, provide technical advice, and ensure commercial success of design projects. - Utilize BIM/digital software for mechanical design, specifications, and drawings for water-related projects. - Stay updated on industry innovations, provide design solutions, and collaborate with team members effectively. - Uphold health and safety standards, comply with Arcadis business management system, and perform other duties as required. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor/Masters in Mechanical Engineering with 5-8+ years of experience in water and wastewater treatment systems design. - Registered/accredited professional with knowledge of British Standards and quality management systems. - Proficiency in BIM modeling software like Revit and familiarity with relevant codes and standards. - Strong technical knowledge, communication skills, and ability to work under pressure. - Self-motivated individual with interpersonal skills and flexibility to adapt to new challenges.
