Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled, compassionate, and experienced Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Dermatologist with specialized expertise in hair restoration and transplant procedures. The ideal candidate will be adept in diagnosing and treating various hair loss conditions, performing advanced hair transplant techniques (FUE, FUT), and providing comprehensive dermatological care. This role involves both clinical practice and active participation in our medical community, contributing to our reputation as a centre of excellence in hair restoration.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Consultation & Diagnosis:
- Conduct thorough consultations with patients presenting with various hair loss concerns (androgenetic alopecia, telogen effluvium, alopecia areata, etc.).
- Perform comprehensive dermatological examinations of the scalp and hair, utilizing diagnostic tools such as trichoscopy.
- Accurately diagnose hair and scalp conditions and develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans, including medical management and surgical interventions.
- Educate patients on their condition, treatment options, realistic expectations, potential risks, and post-procedure care.
- Hair Transplant Procedures:
- Expertly perform Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) procedures.
- Possess proficiency in advanced hair transplant techniques, including DHI (Direct Hair Implantation), body hair transplantation, and eyebrow/beard transplantation.
- Oversee and guide the surgical support team (technicians, nurses) during transplant procedures to ensure precision and optimal outcomes.
- Manage and address potential complications related to hair transplant surgery.
- Medical & Non-Surgical Hair Restoration:
- Prescribe and manage medical treatments for hair loss (e.g., minoxidil, finasteride, PRP, mesotherapy).
- Provide guidance on lifestyle modifications and nutritional support for hair health.
- Offer other non-surgical aesthetic procedures as per clinical need and expertise.
- Post-operative Care & Follow-up:
- Provide comprehensive post-operative care instructions and conduct regular follow-up appointments to monitor patient progress and ensure optimal healing and results.
- Address any post-operative concerns or complications promptly and effectively.
- Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Collaborate effectively with other dermatologists, plastic surgeons, general physicians, and support staff to ensure integrated patient care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
- Contribute to the training and mentorship of junior medical staff or fellows as applicable.
- Professional Development & Quality Improvement:
- Stay current with the latest advancements, research, and best practices in hair restoration, dermatology, and aesthetic medicine through continuous medical education (CME), workshops, and conferences.
- Actively participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, audits, and clinical research.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with medical, legal, and ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree (e.g., MBBS with MD/DNB Dermatology) from an accredited medical college.
- Completion of a recognized residency program in Dermatology.
- Specialized training or fellowship in Hair Restoration, Dermatosurgery, or Aesthetic Dermatology is highly preferred.
- Licensure & Certification:
- Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in Karnataka, India, from the Karnataka Medical Council.
- Board Certification by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or an equivalent recognized Dermatology board in India.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience:
