Deputy Plant Manager

Role Overview: As the Deputy Plant Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Plant Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the dairy processing facility. Your role will involve ensuring that production, quality, safety, and efficiency standards are met while driving continuous improvement initiatives across all departments. You will act as the second-in-command and step in for the Plant Manager when necessary. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in managing all plant operations, including milk reception, pasteurization, homogenization, filling, packaging, and dispatch. - Supervise production teams to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols. - Ensure adherence to food safety regulations (FSSAI, HACCP, ISO) and maintain quality standards. - Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, yield, downtime, and cost control. - Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and logistics teams to address operational issues promptly. - Support inventory and raw material planning to align with production schedules. - Drive initiatives for process optimization, waste reduction, and energy efficiency. - Assist in employee training, development, and performance evaluations. - Participate in audits (internal/external) and implement corrective actions. - Support budgeting, cost tracking, and reporting to senior management. - Act as the acting Plant Manager in their absence. Qualifications & Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Dairy Technology, Food Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). - 7-10 years of experience in dairy or food manufacturing, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial role. - Strong knowledge of dairy processing equipment and unit operations. - Familiarity with food safety standards, regulatory compliance, and lean manufacturing. - Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. - Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (SAP preferred). - Good communication and interpersonal skills.,
