Job Description

The Manager of Finance Operations oversees the day-to-day financial activities and operations of the company. This role ensures the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes, including accounting, budgeting, reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, with proven experience in managing finance teams and optimizing financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Operations Management:

    • Oversee the daily financial operations of the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
    • Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions, including invoicing, payments, and reconciliations.
    • Implement and maintain effective financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, working closely with various departments to gather and analyze data.
    • Monitor budget performance and provide regular reports on variances and financial performance against budgeted targets.
    • Support the development of financial models and projections to guide strategic decision-making.
  3. Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare and present regular financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements in financial reporting.
    • Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  4. Process Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
    • Develop and maintain documentation for financial processes and procedures.
    • Utilize financial software and tools to streamline operations and improve reporting capabilities.
  5. Team Management:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
    • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support professional development opportunities for team members.
    • Ensure the teams adherence to financial policies and procedures.
  6. Compliance and Risk Management:

    • Monitor compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
    • Identify and manage financial risks, implementing controls and mitigation strategies as needed.
    • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and accounting standards that may impact the company.
  7. Stakeholder Communication:

    • Act as a key point of contact for financial queries from internal and external stakeholders.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support business decisions.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial operations with overall business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant
  • Post Qualification Minimum of [8-15] years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least [4-6] years in a managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience in managing financial operations, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on developing and motivating staff.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
