OVERVIEW:

Deputy General Manager – Finishing

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Operational Management

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the finishing department, including bleaching, dyeing, printing, washing, and other finishing processes.
• Ensure adherence to production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
• Monitor machine utilization, efficiency, and workflow to optimize capacity.

2.Quality Assurance

• Oversee quality control processes to ensure fabrics meet required customer specifications and international standards.
• Drive initiatives to reduce defects, rework, and waste.
• Implement best practices for process consistency and product reliability.

3.Process Improvement & Innovation

• Implement lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Introduce new finishing techniques and technologies to improve efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
• Collaborate with R&D and technical teams on process development and new product trials.

4.Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain standards in line with customer audits, certifications, and sustainability requirements (e.g., ZDHC, OEKO-TEX, GOTS).
• Enforce strict adherence to EHS guidelines within the finishing operations.

PRE - REQUISITES:

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Production Management or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum

  12+ years of experience

  in fabric finishing, with at least

  5 years in a senior managerial role

  in a reputed fabric/textile mill.
