Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, baking, and presenting high-quality pastries, desserts, cakes, and bakery items.
• Support the Chef de Partie in day-to-day pastry operations.
• Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning.
• Follow standard recipes, portion controls, and minimize wastage.
• Assist in developing new dessert and pastry items for menus.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in the pastry section.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, and hygiene standards.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Chef de Partie.
• Train and guide Commis Chefs in pastry preparation techniques.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry, or related field.
• Minimum 23 years of experience in pastry & dessert section (hotel/restaurant/bakery).
• Knowledge of modern pastry trends, plated desserts, chocolate work, and bakery items.
• Strong eye for detail, creativity, and presentation.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
