Job Description

Job Purpose
As a key member of the DTS team, seeking an exceptionally talented software developer who is willling to relocate to Costa Rica and to join with a strong background in building robust and scalable backend systems. You will be part of a team that plays a critical role in supporting research and portfolio generation through advanced technology solutions. The team is involved throughout the entire software development lifecycle—from planning and development to deployment and operations—and also provides second-line production support.
Desired Skills and Experience
Essential skills
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as a developer
  • Strong Data Structures, Algorithms fundamentals
  • Knowledge of Python and Linux/Unix platforms; familiarity with scripting languages
  • Experience designing and maintaining distributed system architectures
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining backend services in Python
  • Familiarity with data processing and orchestration technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Airflow, and Kubernetes
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, and Alerta
  • Experience in finance is a plus
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop scalable, robust software applications with a focus on backend systems and data-intensive workflows.
  • Build and maintain complex data pipelines and frameworks for strategy and performance analytics
  • Work with technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Kubernetes, and modern monitoring tools.
  • Apply strong debugging and problem-solving skills to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and MVC web frameworks.
  • Operate effectively in Unix/Linux environments with exposure to caching tools, queuing systems, and data visualization platforms.
