Job Description

Primary Skill:

Key Responsibilities:

Network Oversight:
Manage and maintain our LAN/WAN infrastructure, including all critical network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls.
Issue Resolution:
Provide L2 support by troubleshooting and resolving network issues, escalating to L3 support when necessary.
Performance Monitoring:
Implement and oversee monitoring tools to ensure optimal network performance, health, and security. Optimize network resources for peak efficiency.
Security Management:
Ensure robust network security by managing patches, access controls, and monitoring for potential breaches.
Backup & Recovery:
Handle backup procedures for network configurations and perform regular disaster recovery tests to secure data integrity.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation for network setups, procedures, and policies.
Team Collaboration:
Work alongside IT team members, developers, and stakeholders to integrate and support network services effectively.

What Were Looking For:

Experience:
6-12 years in network administration with a focus on LAN/WAN environments.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in managing network devices (switches, routers, firewalls).
- Solid understanding of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with VLANs, VPNs, and various networking technologies.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as Nagios or SolarWinds.
- Knowledge of network security practices and QoS.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
- Proactive with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
