Job Description

The Qualys SaaS platform relies heavily on various technologies such as Oracle, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Kafka, Redis, and Ceph to ensure 24x7 service delivery to customers worldwide. As a Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE), you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing production systems across multiple global platforms. Your primary responsibilities will include installing, configuring, and tuning Oracle, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Kafka, Redis, and Ceph in a multi-DC environment. You will be tasked with identifying bottlenecks, optimizing database performance, ensuring data integrity and security, and monitoring system performance to provide efficient query responses to end users. Additionally, you will be responsible for database installation, testing, patching, storage management, archiving, backup, and recovery procedures. To excel in this role, you should have a minimum of 5 years of experience managing SQL and No-SQL databases. You must possess in-depth knowledge of diagnostic, monitoring, and troubleshooting tools to identify and address performance issues effectively. Understanding the interrelationships between databases, business applications, and operating systems is crucial, along with familiarity with real-time data synchronization and backup and recovery processes. Your ability to analyze problems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and implement necessary database and architecture changes will be essential. Experience working in mid to large-size production environments and proficiency in ansible, Jenkins, git, and Grafana are desired qualifications for this position.
