Job Title: Senior PL/SQL Developer & Database Architect - MS SQL Server 2025 / Oracle 23aiJob Location: Hinjewadi Phase 1Experience: 10+ YearsShift Timings: 10 am - 7 pm Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced PL/SQL Developer and Database Administrator (DBA) with a minimum of 10 years experience to architect, manage, and optimize large-scale enterprise databases across Microsoft SQL Server (latest) and Oracle Database 23ai platforms. This role is critical to the performance, reliability, and scalability of a global AI-powered eCommerce marketplace with millions of SKUs, complex ERP integrations, and high-volume transactional workloads.You will be responsible for end-to-end database architecture, fine-tuning, normalization, optimization, data integration, and the implementation of intelligent systems such as AI-based search and recommendation engines, ensuring real-time speed and reliability across our entire platform.Key Responsibilities1. Database Design & Development Lead advanced data modeling, normalization (3NF, BCNF), and schema design for high-performance, scalable OLTP and OLAP environments. Develop and maintain advanced PL/SQL, T-SQL procedures, packages, triggers, views, and functions for business-critical systems. Design and optimize partitioning, indexing strategies, and query execution plans for massive-scale product catalog and transaction systems. Build and manage multi-tenant database structures and handle data lifecycle policies across environments.2. Performance Optimization & Tuning Perform in-depth performance tuning of SQL queries, procedures, and server configurations (e.g., buffer pool size, I/O optimization, cost-based optimizer tuning). Utilize tools like SQL Server Query Store, Extended Events, Oracle AWR, ASH, and TKPROF for identifying and resolving bottlenecks. Tune database operations for ERP and large product catalog systems for sub-second response and real-time transactional throughput.3. Administration, Backup & Recovery Implement and manage high-availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) configurations including Always On availability groups, Oracle Data Guard, and RMAN. Perform regular database cloning, backups, restores, and validate restore integrity through simulation and scheduled drills. Maintain detailed documentation of all schema changes, deployments, and DR plans.4. AI & Advanced Analytics Integration Integrate and optimize AI vector search, product recommendation engines, and personalization systems using Oracle 23ai Vector Search, SQL Server 2025 embeddings, and external ML platforms. Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to embed feature pipelines and scoring models within the database layer using OML4Py, T-SQL Python scripts, or CLR.5. Data Integration, Import/Export Build robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Oracle Data Pump, SQL Server SSIS, Azure Data Factory, and Kafka for data exchange with analytics systems, third-party platforms, and cloud ecosystems. Monitor and govern data consistency, latency, and audit trails across syncs with ERP and microservices.6. Security & Compliance Enforce enterprise-level security: encryption (TDE), data masking, auditing, RBAC/ABAC policies, and GDPR/PCI compliance. Work with InfoSec teams to handle vulnerability assessments, patch planning, and compliance audits.7. Operational Excellence & DevOps Automate database deployments using Ansible, Terraform, Flyway, or similar tools. Monitor capacity planning, storage forecasting, and IOPS usage with Grafana, Prometheus, and built-in OEM or Azure Monitor tools. Support SRE and DevOps practices in CI/CD pipelines and rolling updates.Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience in combined PL/SQL development, database administration, and performance engineering across both Oracle (19c/21c/23ai) and MS SQL Server (2019/2022/2025 Preview). Expert-level skills in PL/SQL and T-SQL, with a deep understanding of procedural logic, exception handling, and performance tuning. Proven experience with large-scale eCommerce or ERP systems (>10 TB data, >100M SKUs, >5K TPS). Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and reporting back-ends. Experience implementing AI-powered features like semantic search, vector similarity, and in-database analytics. Solid knowledge of cloud architectures (Azure SQL, OCI, or AWS RDS/EC2 for databases). Strong scripting in Shell, PowerShell, Python for automation. Bachelor s or Master s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field.Preferred Skills Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, Oracle Certified Professional (OCP/OCM). Familiarity with SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics 365, or custom ERP platforms. Working knowledge of NoSQL (MongoDB, Elasticsearch), Redis, or message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ). Exposure to eCommerce architectures including headless commerce, microservices, and edge/CDN caching.Performance Goals (First 6-12 Months) Boost performance of core product search queries to 1M products/day with automated error resolution.Reporting & Collaboration Reports to the VP of Engineering and collaborates with the AI/ML team, DevOps, ERP Integrations, and Product Catalog Management teams. Mentor junior DBAs and developers; provide documentation, training, and support during critical releases.
