We are seeking a seasoned SQL and RDS Database Administrator with deep expertise in MSSQL and AWS RDS to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining high availability, performance, and security in a production environment, while also contributing to automation and optimization efforts.

Primary Responsibilities

Act as the subject matter expert in MSSQL and AWS RDS database administration
Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of MSSQL standalone & Always-On clusters from scratch
Handle troubleshooting, backups, restores, replication, high availability, and security management
Execute database upgrades and migrations for MSSQL standalone and Always-On configurations
Tune performance and monitor database health across platforms
Manage AWS services including RDS, EC2, S3, snapshots, cloning, and restorations
Support AWS VPC, security groups, and DMS for seamless database operations
Conduct root cause analysis, participate in major incident response (P1/P2), and lead RCA documentation
Perform and support initiatives like disaster recovery drills, upgrades, patching, and mentoring of junior DBAs

Required Skills & Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on experience as a DBA in production environments
Strong expertise in MSSQL and AWS RDS
Experience working on both Windows and Linux platforms
Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation
Secondary skills in MongoDB, and knowledge of DocumentDB and DynamoDB (preferred)
Exposure to ITIL processes and tools like JIRA
Proven ability to manage and troubleshoot critical production issues under pressure
Excellent communication, customer handling, and relationship-building skills
Innovative problem-solver with the ability to think strategically during tough scenarios
