Database Administrator

As a Database Administrator at this company, your role will involve establishing proper user accounts, monitoring user access and security, and ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly. You will further refine the physical design to meet system storage requirements, carry out capacity planning, and perform migration of projects between various environments such as dev, test, and production while maintaining change control. Independently analyzing, solving, and correcting issues in real-time will be essential, providing problem resolution end-to-end. You will also be responsible for providing 24x7 production support, available for escalations, and enforcing and documenting database policies, procedures, and standards. Regular communication with technical, applications, and operational staff is crucial to ensure database integrity and security. Additionally, providing trend analysis to the management team to enable informed decision-making will be part of your key responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: - Establishing proper user accounts and monitoring user access and security. - Refining the physical design to meet system storage requirements. - Ensuring storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly. - Carrying out capacity planning. - Performing migration of projects between various environments and maintaining change control. - Analyzing, solving, and correcting issues in real time. - Providing 24x7 production support and available for escalations. - Enforcing and documenting database policies, procedures, and standards. - Communicating regularly with technical, applications, and operational staff. - Providing trend analysis to the management team for informed decision-making. Qualifications Required: - Expertise in working with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB on medium to large systems. - Ability to identify and recommend changes/improvements to the build process. - Proficiency in performance tuning, backup, recovery, security, disaster recovery, patching, and upgrades. - Development experience is an added advantage.
