Database Administrator

As a Database Administrator at our IT company in Coimbatore, India, you will be an integral part of the IT team. Your primary responsibility will be to design, implement, maintain, and optimize the database infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security of database systems. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, implement, and maintain database infrastructure, including servers, storage, and networking. - Plan and execute database server upgrades and patches. - Manage database storage, including capacity planning and allocation. - Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures. - Monitor database security logs and alerts. - Develop and maintain database backup and recovery procedures. - Ensure regular backups are performed and stored securely. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Strong understanding of database technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL). - Experience with database server operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows). - Knowledge of database storage technologies (e.g., SAN, NAS). - Experience with database performance tuning and optimization. - Strong understanding of database security principles and practices. - Experience with database backup and recovery procedures. - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. In addition to the above, the work environment for this position is office-based with occasional on-site visits and remote work flexibility.
