Data Lead / Data Process Engineer

Location: Hyderabad, Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Lead / Data Process Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and processing systems that power critical business operations. You'll work closely on sports data and will have to ensure data flows efficiently, reliably, and securely throughout the organization.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who thrives in dynamic environments. You should be comfortable tackling new and unfamiliar challenges, diagnosing complex data issues, and developing innovative solutions when standard approaches don't apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
• Lead data architecture decisions and establish best practices for data processing workflows
• Troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues, pipeline failures, and performance bottlenecks
• Proactively identify, investigate, and solve novel data challenges as they arise
• Collaborate with data analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to understand data requirements
• Implement data governance, monitoring, and alerting frameworks
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to technical documentation
• Stay current with emerging data technologies and recommend improvements

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in data engineering, data processing, or a related field
• Strong understanding of data processing fundamentals, including batch and real-time streaming
• Proficiency in SQL and general programming (preferably Python but the language itself is not important)
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and solve complex, ambiguous problems independently
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
