Data Center Engineer

As a Data Centre Engineer L2, your role involves hands-on experience in installation and troubleshooting of Infrastructure (DC & Network) equipment, rack, and stack of the equipment/cable. You should have a good understanding of Infrastructure (Data center and network) hardware architecture to follow the procedures shared by L3 teams during troubleshooting and HS&E support. Knowledge of Nokia, Ciena Hardware and ILA Hut jobsites is essential. Additionally, you should possess a clear understanding of IT principles such as networks and hardware. Your responsibilities will include: - Cleaning tools testing, reporting, and installing cables or optics for new circuits - Supporting network and server teams by assisting with rack and stack and running cables - Performing labelling, patching, and asset tagging activities - Following specific task instructions and providing necessary reporting and support through phone, remote tools, or in person - Conducting failure analysis, functional system testing, and identifying failed components - Making, crimping, and testing RJ45 Copper Cables - Handling BreakFix/Technical tasks such as cleaning fibers, replacing faulty optical cables, and performing BER testing - Configuring remote access, basic storage array configuration, and replacing faulty cables - Rebooting line cards, chassis, or reseating cards/optics - Power cycling and conducting whole unit replacement Qualifications required for this position include hands-on experience in IMAC and break-fix activities related to the infrastructure environment, ability to identify defective spares and replace them as instructed by physical observations, and familiarity with fiber/data/copper cable installation and maintenance.
