Job Description

The Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in extracting actionable insights from project data. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to evidence-based decision-making and project optimization. The position will report to Program Manager.

Responsibilities

As a part of the larger Monitoring Evaluation and Research team, the Data Analyst will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Data Collection and Validation:

    • Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and consistent data collection from various project activities and sites.
    • Implement data validation processes to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation:

    • Employ statistical techniques and analytical tools to process and analyze project data.
    • Translate complex data into meaningful insights, trends, and actionable recommendations

  • Dashboard Development and Reporting:

    • Collaborate with the MEL team to design and develop dashboards and reports that communicate project progress and impact.
    • Present data findings to diverse stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Impact Assessment and Evaluation:

    • Participate in impact assessments and evaluations, providing analytical support to assess the effectiveness of project interventions.
    • Collaborate with teams to measure project outcomes against established indicators.
  • Quality Control and Assurance:

    • Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy and consistency of data analysis and reporting.
    • Validate data outputs and troubleshoot discrepancies as needed.
  • Collaboration and Support:

    • Collaborate closely with project teams, including the MEL team, to address data-related inquiries and challenges.
    • Provide data-related technical support to improve data quality.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

    • Stay updated on emerging data analysis techniques and tools, seeking opportunities for innovation.
    • Participate in efforts to streamline data analysis processes for increased efficiency
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in statistics, data science, public health, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within the public health or development sector.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software such as Excel, SPSS, or Python.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to extract insights from complex datasets.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with monitoring and evaluation (ME) systems is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential.
