Dairy Salesman

Job Summary: The Dairy Salesman serves as a key link between the dairy farm and its customers. This role involves promoting and selling dairy products (such as milk, cheese, butter, yogurt) produced on the farm to retailers, wholesalers, and direct consumers. A strong understanding of dairy farming practices is essential to effectively communicate product value, ensure quality assurance, and build trust with clients. Key Responsibilities: Sales and Customer Service: Promote and sell dairy products to existing and potential customers. Identify new market opportunities and develop client relationships. Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and service agreements. Product Knowledge and Representation: Understand the production process, quality standards, and product varieties. Represent the dairy brand with professionalism and integrity. Provide technical or product information to customers when needed. Farm Coordination: Coordinate with the dairy farm production team regarding stock levels, product freshness, and delivery timelines. Communicate customer feedback to the farm for continuous improvement. Logistics and Delivery Oversight: Assist in planning and monitoring product delivery schedules. Ensure that all products reach customers in proper condition and on time. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate sales records and prepare regular sales reports. Track customer preferences, market trends, and competitor activity. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; diploma or degree in agriculture, dairy technology, or marketing is a plus. Prior experience in dairy sales or farm work preferred. Knowledge of dairy products and basic farm operations. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel. Desirable Skills: Familiarity with cold chain logistics. Ability to explain technical dairy terms to non-technical customers. Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting. Working Conditions: Combination of fieldwork (sales visits) and time at the dairy farm. May involve early mornings, occasional weekend shifts, and travel within a region.
