Job Purpose and Impact

The Dairy Feed Sales Officer will be aligned to Cargill's Animal Nutrition Health business in Tumkur, Karnataka. You will support the team with face to face and remote selling to new and existing customers, appointing new distributors, selling directly or indirectly through various sales channels for your assigned territory. In this role, you will help assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services, and solutions to the farmers.

Role & responsibilities

  • Help develop and deliver sales bids, proposals, presentations and participate in conducting product demonstrations.
  • Represent the organization in promoting and selling products and services to farmers.
  • Help identify and contact prospective customers.
  • Build customer relationships that help generate future sales and repeat business.
  • Responsible for assessing customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services and solutions to the farmers.
  • Evaluate, measure and handle the product and brand profit and loss.
  • Handle complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred candidate profile

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in any discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Years of experience: 2 to 5 years.
  • Atleast 2 years of experience in general trade and distribution sales in the Dairy Feed/FMCG/Agriculture sector (pesticides, fertilizers, agriculture chemicals) in Karnataka.
  • Should have very strong relationships with farmers particularly in Tumkur.
  • Must be fluent in Kannada.
  • Proven experience in business growth, geographic expansion, and profitability in the assigned territory.
  • Strong experience of handling distributor sales specifically in rural areas.
  • Ability to manage multiple dealers and SKU's.
