C&S:Currency Chest Operations Staff

Team Size

• Execute day-to-day currency chest operations as per regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor the CRL of mapped branches in coordination with CC Head/Ops Head/BBO team.
• Handle cash remittance (payment to branches/CRAs and receipt from branches/CRAs/recyclers).
• Ensure proper sorting of notes as per RBI guidelines and supervise Sorters.
• Manage discrepancies identified during sorting.
• Check and pack soiled note remittance boxes.
• Accompany soiled note remittance to RBI and ensure proper handover/acknowledgment.
• Attend RBI CVPS for processing of soiled notes.
• Liaise with vendors for upkeep of note-sorting/counting machines.
• Update entries in CCMS (inward, outward, sorting, bin management).
• Process vendor bills in P2P and coordinate with COT team for approvals.
• Maintain joint custodianship of the vault, as required.
• Ensure maintenance of safety & security gadgets.
• Update and maintain various registers at the currency chest.
• Verify Finacle & CCMS transactions in a timely manner.
• Monitor CIT vehicles in line with RBI guidelines.
• Reconcile chest cash balance at EOD and submit MIS to CO as required.
• Liaise with RBI, vendors, and other banks as needed.
• Ensure compliance with security and vigilance requirements.

• Graduate.
• Additional certification in banking preferred.

• Experience in branch banking operations (preferably as Branch Teller or in cash management).
• Knowledge of internal accounts in Finacle.
• Proficiency in MS Excel & MS PowerPoint.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
