Job Description for CRO / Process Engineer – Sponge Iron Division (SID):
Department: Operations / Process Control
Experience Required: 7- 10Years (in Sponge Iron / Steel / Cement / Power Plant Operations)
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Metallurgy / Chemical Engineering

Job Summary:

The CRO / Process Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, controlling, and optimizing the operations of the Sponge Iron plant from the Central Control Room. The role involves ensuring stable operation of rotary kilns, coolers, ESPs, and associated equipment while maintaining production targets, energy efficiency, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor plant processes from the Central Control Room (CCR) using
• Control and optimize process parameters of rotary kilns, coolers, ESPs, ID/FD fans, conveyors, and gas handling systems.
• Ensure smooth operation and stable conditions for maximum production and minimum downtime.
• Coordinate with field operators, shift engineers, and maintenance teams for troubleshooting.
• Analyze process trends, logs, and alarms; take corrective actions during deviations.
• Support daily/shift production planning and monitor raw material feed, coal injection, and energy consumption.

• Prepare shift reports, production logs, and maintain accurate process data for management review.

• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and statutory guidelines.
• Assist in process improvements, energy optimization, and productivity enhancement initiatives.
• Participate in plant shutdowns, start-ups, and commissioning activities

Skills & Competencies:

• Hands-on experience with DCS/SCADA systems and CCR operations.
• Strong knowledge of Sponge Iron (DRI) process, rotary kilns, and gas handling systems.
• Analytical skills to interpret process data and take corrective action.
• Good coordination and communication skills with field teams.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental compliance in process industries.
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to work under pressure.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
