The Group : Morningstar Credit Ratings, LLC is registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as a nationally recognized statistical rating organization (NRSRO). Morningstar Credit Ratings issues credit ratings on a variety of security types, including corporate and financial institutions, commercial mortgage-backed securities, residential mortgage-backed securities, and asset-backed securities. Morningstar's credit analysis helps investors make better-informed investment decisions by focusing on the credit risks that truly matter. The Role : As a surveillance analyst, you will assist in all facets of the surveillance of letter ratings on CMBS issues, supporting senior staff in the United States. The analyst will provide research and modeling support primarily related to the re-underwriting of commercial real estate loans and the running of deal-level models. This position is based in the Mumbai office. Key Responsibilities : Population of Underwriting Models : Assist senior analysts in the re-underwriting of loans. Tasks include locating property financial statements and rent rolls, populating templates, researching data anomalies, and communicating with senior staff on open items or issues. Population of Ratings Models : Prepare models for use by senior staff, identify necessary overrides, and research anomalies. Communicate with third-party providers to gather additional information on deals/loans before moving them to the committee. Periodic Portfolio Reviews : Compile and prepare periodic portfolio reports for senior staff. Identify material changes and research the causes. Operational Support : Complete administrative tasks as needed, including organizing outside requests, reviewing offering documents, reviewing third-party sites for loan and deal information, and performing various other tasks as required. Requirements : Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience, particularly in commercial real estate financing, structured finance, and/or credit ratings. A master's degree is required, with CFA or FRM preferred. Fluent in English, with above-average verbal and written proficiency. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Ability to work independently and take initiative on problem-solving. Excellent quantitative/qualitative analytical skills. Additional Information : Morningstar DBRS is an equal opportunity employer.
