Role Summary
The Country Manager will oversee the entire sales, marketing, and business operations for BOPP, Polyester, and specialty films across all zones within the country. The role entails developing and executing national strategies to achieve sales, profitability, and market share objectives. The Country Manager will provide strategic leadership to zonal sales heads, build strong customer relationships, drive new business opportunities, and ensure sustainable growth through operational excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Business Planning
- • Develop and implement the national sales strategy for films (BOPP, Polyester, specialty grades) aligned with company objectives.
- • Define and monitor annual business plans, sales budgets, and profitability targets for all zones.
- • Conduct regular market analysis to identify growth opportunities, pricing trends, and competitive dynamics.
- • Lead long-term strategic initiatives such as product diversification, new applications, and customer value programs.
- • Drive alignment between production, logistics, and market demand to optimize inventory and service levels.
2. Sales & Market Development
- • Achieve national sales, volume, and margin targets across all product lines and zones.
- • Build, nurture, and expand strategic relationships with major national and multinational clients.
- • Identify and establish new business channels (industrial users, converters, packaging companies, FMCG clients, distributors).
- • Oversee participation in exhibitions, trade fairs, and promotional events to strengthen market presence.
- • Analyze sales data to forecast trends, set pricing strategies, and guide territory-level plans.
3. Team Leadership & People Development
- • Lead and mentor zonal sales managers and cross-functional teams to achieve business goals.
- • Set clear performance KPIs and ensure accountability across regional teams.
- • Build a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement within the sales organization.
- • Conduct training, capability-building, and succession planning for key commercial positions.
- • Promote ethical business practices and reinforce compliance with company policies.
4. Customer & Key Account Management
- • Serve as the executive sponsor for key national accounts, ensuring relationship depth and retention.
- • Drive customer satisfaction through service excellence, quality consistency, and proactive issue resolution.
- • Oversee commercial negotiations, contracts, and credit policies with major clients.
- • Facilitate new product introductions, trials, and application support through coordination with technical teams.
5. Coordination & Cross-Functional Alignment
- • Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, R&D, Finance, and Marketing to ensure business objectives are met.
- • Support production planning by providing accurate demand forecasts and consumption trends.
- • Align product development and innovation initiatives with market feedback and customer needs.
- • Ensure smooth interdepartmental coordination to maintain delivery, quality, and pricing consistency nationwide.
6. Governance, Reporting & Financial Control
- • Review and approve zonal business plans, pricing proposals, and large account deals.
- • Track and report monthly sales performance, market share growth, and profitability metrics.
- • Ensure compliance with all statutory, financial, and ethical regulations.
- • Manage the P&L for the films business in the country, ensuring cost discipline and cash flow efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- • Graduate in Engineering / Polymer Science / Chemical / Mechanical / Business; MBA preferred.
- • 15+ years of experience in sales, marketing, or business management within the films, polymers, or flexible packaging sector.
- • Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role managing large, multi-zone teams.
- • Strong understanding of BOPP, Polyester, and specialty film applications, customer segments, and processing technologies.
- • Proven record of driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and developing high-performing teams.
- • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- • Willingness to travel extensively across regions.
