Cost Estimator

Role Overview

The Costing / Estimation Engineer will handle cost analysis and quotation preparation for precision-machined components and sheet metal parts. The role requires strong knowledge of machining and fabrication processes, accurate cost calculation skills, and the ability to coordinate with vendors and internal teams for competitive estimations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical requirements for cost estimation.
• Estimate cost for precision components (CNC, VMC, turning, grinding, wirecut/EDM) and sheet metal parts (laser cutting, punching, bending, welding, finishing, assembly).
• Prepare cost sheets, quotation breakups, and proposal documents.
• Calculate material usage, machining hours, tooling, labor, and overheads.
• Coordinate with suppliers/vendors to obtain material and subcontracting costs.
• Support Sales/Business Development in responding to RFQs with accurate costings.
• Maintain a cost database for standard machining and sheet metal processes.
• Identify cost optimization and material utilization improvements.
• Prepare MIS reports and costing presentations for management.

Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of precision machining & sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills for cost calculations.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint; ERP knowledge preferred.
• Good negotiation and vendor coordination skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹14,725.33 - ₹46,173.67 per month
