Role & responsibilities

Key responsibilities

Lead and manage the cost estimating function:
Develop and implement best practices, processes, and policies for cost estimating.
Prepare and analyze estimates:
Create detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors for projects of various types (e.g., residential, commercial).
Collaborate with stakeholders:
Work with architects, engineers, project managers, and suppliers to gather necessary information and obtain quotations for price validation.
Manage and maintain cost data:
Keep cost databases updated with commonly used items and services.
Support bidding and proposals:
Prepare tender submissions, BOQs, and cost plans.
Perform risk assessment and value engineering:
Identify potential risks and suggest solutions to reduce costs without compromising quality.
Track changes and update estimates:
Ensure budget estimates are updated to reflect any changes in project design.
Oversee cost control:
Support post-tender evaluations and project closeout processes to ensure projects stay within budget.
