Role- Cooling and Buildings Associate

Essential Functions:

• Assist in  technical research, qualitative and quantitative analysis, writing on aspects of building energy efficiency, thermal comfort, net zero buildings, building heat resilience and urban cooling strategies such as cool roofs and other cool surfaces. These include technology trends, market dynamics, policy frameworks, infrastructure requirements, and impact assessment of building energy efficiency and urban cooling practices.
• Review of existing building energy efficiency policies, national and state building codes, urban planning programs etc.
• Contribute to impactful research reports, policy briefs, whitepapers, and presentations summarizing research findings and policy recommendations Stay updated with the latest developments in buildings and urban cooling, technological advancements, and policy changes, both nationally and internationally.
• Provide support in engaging with industry stakeholders, academia, government officials, academia, peer research organizations, think tanks, financiers and other stakeholders to support evidence-based policy formulation on space cooling and urban heat island reduction within the broader sustainable urban cooling practices ecosystem.
• Collaborate with other members of the cooling and efficiency team on project planning, implementation, and dissemination with partners
• Support and contribute to organizing workshops, roundtables and stakeholder consultation meetings.
• Regular domestic and international communication by video calls, emails, and meetings

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in building science, urban planning or architecture, or other related fields. Master’s degree in any of the above fields is a plus.
• 3-5 years of previous work experience in supporting the implementation of projects with multiple partners and stakeholders. Prior work or understanding on buildings and urban planning will be preferred.
