Job Summary:

The Cook is responsible for preparing hygienic, nutritious, and timely meals for patients, staff, and visitors, in accordance with hospital standards, dietary requirements, and food safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare meals as per daily menu, diet charts, and instructions from dietician/administration
Ensure food quality, taste, portion size, and presentation
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen, utensils, and storage areas
Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection-control protocols
Manage raw material usage to minimize wastage
Ensure proper storage of food items as per safety norms
Assist in menu planning when required
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment regularly
Coordinate with housekeeping and nursing staff for timely food service

Hygiene & Safety Responsibilities:

Follow hand hygiene and personal cleanliness standards
Use gloves, caps, aprons, and masks as required
Report any health issues immediately to supervisor
Ensure pest-free and contamination-free kitchen environment

Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum 8th10th pass preferred
Prior experience in hospital / hotel / institutional kitchen preferred
Knowledge of Indian meals and basic diet requirements
Ability to work in shifts
Physically fit and disciplined
